Double Track Project-Phase 1

The Long Island Railroad met with the Executive Board members of RCA-Islip and our Legislator Mr. Cilmi as part of the community research.

The LIRR construction management team discussed the phase 1 project with us and addressed many of the concerns we considered with our community and informed us that this Phase will take approximately 6 months.

The construction phase will require clearing, grading, moving earth along the LIRR Right of Way and the installation of retaining walls in some locations to support the track structure.

Staging areas are at west of the LIRR Ronkonkoma Station and the north side of the tracks.  Careful protection will be considered for our impacted residents and community.

The LIRR has strived to make this project by considering our schools, police and emergency response teams along with our sensitive community.
